Welcome to my practice. Throughout my professional career I have strived to help people better understand themselves and to cope with life’s challenges in creative, non-destructive ways.  Pain in life is inevitable, but how we deal with it will determine if we are able to grow or stay stuck in unhealthy patterns.

Exploring and facing difficulties takes courage; It can also be the most rewarding thing we do in life.  We will develop a relationship in a safe and compassionate setting that allows for inner exploration of the problems you are experiencing that are causing suffering and discomfort.

Once the patterns of suffering are identified, we then work on ways to understand your difficulties so you  can make choices that allow you to live a more fulfilling life.  Through this process of hard work we can increase your capacity to communicate and understand the connections between the body, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; leading to more successful ways of living your life. The act of speaking , and learning how to experience feelings in the presence of someone who can listen in a deep way, allows for openings over time that can lead to self understanding, confidence, satisfaction and freedom.

I bring a lifetime of professional and personal experience and bring these experiences to my practice to help me relate to my clients.

I provide therapy to adults 18 and  up emphasizing: (in no specific order)

  • Aging
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Mood disorders
  • Relationship issues
  • Addictions
  • Life transitions
  • Health problems
  • Grief and Loss
  • LCSW Licensing Supervision
  • Eating Disorders

I received my Masters in Social Work from University of Utah in 1994 and have worked with youth and adults in the clinical, residential, school, outdoor, and private practice environments.  Depending on your needs, I utilize a variety of psychotherapeutic techniques. I have received training in  Psychoanalysis,  Ego State Therapy, Hypnosis, Meridian Based Therapy, Mindfulness,  DBT, Intensive Short term Dynamic Psychotherapy, ACT , ISTDP, AEDP and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

While I am a therapist, first and foremost I am human, navigating the adventure of life, just like you. I have my own strengths, struggles, fears and limitations. I have recovered from an eating disorder and I am committed to challenging myself, going outside of my comfort zone and learning from experience each day.  I feel most alive when I am outdoors, skiing, hiking climbing mountains, camping, taking pictures and submerged in cold water.   I have also discovered great joy in the small things life offers on a daily basis; sunrises, leaves changing, a smile, a good jigsaw puzzle and Yerba Mate,  Being myself, beside people I love makes life struggles all worthwhile.  I’ve been married 25 years and have 2 cats. Therapy has been part of my life journey for many years and has allowed me to live a full and satisfying life.
